So you know when you film on the job site and head back to edit and you don’t know where to start, It’s just so much that you put it off? I’ve been there so…

What we like to do is take 5-10 second shots only and nothing more. It’s easier to edit your short clips than your long ones.
.
.
Choose the ones you want to edit and have fun with it.
.
.
1. Less Content to Manage: Short clips have fewer elements, making it simpler to organize and edit the footage.
2. Focus on Quality: With a shorter duration, it’s easier to ensure that every second of the clip is polished and high quality.
3. Faster Feedback Loop: Shorter clips can be reviewed and revised quickly, allowing for a more efficient editing process.
4. Simplified Storytelling: A concise clip typically focuses on one key moment or message, reducing the complexity of the narrative.
5. Less Resource-Intensive: Editing shorter clips requires less computational power and storage, making the technical aspects of editing more manageable.

Filming on the job site:
Make sure your shot is for about 10 to 15 seconds straight
.
.
Open up the cap cut app! (Simple edit)
.
.
.
Split the video in three separate spots. 😮
In the first section keep the video raw, first transition, pull in.
.
Second slide:
Create a filter that looks good and different from the first slide. Create a key frame In the beginning of the video and pinch to zoom. Create another key frame 2 seconds after and put the frame back to normal. Create two more key frames two seconds apart put back to zoom.
Transition on last slide to light effect / film erase.
Last slide keep a normal frame with same filter as middle slide.

Use Natural Light

• Tip: Try to film during the day when there is plenty of natural light. Position yourself so the light source is behind the camera, not behind the subject, to avoid shadows.

Stabilize Your Shots

• Tip: Use a tripod or a gimbal to keep your shots steady. If you don’t have these, try to hold your phone with both hands and keep your elbows close to your body for stability.

Capture Different Angles

• Tip: Film from various angles to make your content more engaging. Wide shots, close-ups, and medium shots can help tell the full story of your job site.

Keep Clips Short and Sweet

• Tip: Film short clips (10-20 seconds) to keep your audience’s attention. You can edit these clips together later to create a cohesive video.
